KARINE BEESON
French Teacher, La Maternelle

Karine Beeson has worked in education for over 20 years. She has taught in several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Romania, the United Kingdom, and France. She has mostly taught kindergarten, but she has also been a language teacher in international middle and high schools.

She grew up in Le Mans, France, and completed a Master in English and American literature at the University of Le Mans. In 2001, she graduated as a language teacher in the UK. Karine has always been very interested in multilingualism and languages. Young children and education hold a very special place in her heart, and she couldn't imagine being anywhere else than in a classroom.

In 2022, after spending 15 years in the Middle East, Karine and her family decided to move to the United States for new adventures. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Seattle area French schools, before starting at Les Lilas as an English teacher in the spring of 2023. She is thrilled to now be a lead French teacher in La Maternelle and is excited to work with the community and use the Montessori materials in her classroom.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM VACATION?
My dream vacation is to go to a sunny, secluded place where I could do a lot of activities such as running and hiking. It would need to be an exotic locale so I can enjoy the local food, and by the sea to provide day-long fun for my children. Sleeping outside would also be very welcome.
