FINANCIAL AID

Les Lilas is proud to offer need-based financial aid to its students. Each year, Les Lilas’s Board of Directors designates a portion of the school’s budget to assist families whose resources would not otherwise allow them to enroll their children at Les Lilas.

The goal of the financial aid program is to attract a socio-economically diverse student body by providing tuition assistance to those who demonstrate a financial need and the availability of school funds. Priority for financial assistance goes to families already enrolled at Les Lilas. Financial aid awards apply to one school year—families are required to re-apply for financial aid every year. Please note that financial aid is to help with tuition; it is not currently available for after-school programs.

FINANCIAL AID PROCESS

Les Lilas is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share, which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

Les Lilas’s financial aid application deadline is February 1, 2024.

APPLICATION STEPS

  1. Go to the Clarity Application and create an account.

  2. Complete the Clarity application. This mobile-friendly application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time.

  3. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit. You can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

  4. Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application. Please note that while financial aid decisions for the 2024–2025 school year are based on 2022 tax documentation (uploaded to Clarity directly from the IRS by signing Form 4506c), Les Lilas requires you to manually upload additional tax documentation, including your 2023 W2 and business tax forms, if applicable.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish. 

FRENCH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

If your child has French citizenship, is registered in the registry of French people living abroad, and resides with at least one of their parents in the consular district of San Francisco, they may be eligible for a scholarship from the French government.

DO FINANCIAL AID REQUESTS IMPACT ADMISSIONS DECISIONS IN ANY WAY?

No, financial aid decisions are completely separate from admissions decisions.

WHO MAKES FINANCIAL AID DECISIONS? WILL MY FINANCIAL INFORMATION REMAIN PRIVATE?

Financial aid decisions are made by by committee that looks at families' sensitive financial information. All information submitted to the committee is kept confidential. The committee is made up of the head of school, the business manager, and two board members.
