ASMAA BOUTERFAS
French Teacher, La Maternelle

Asmaa Bouterfas has worked as a teacher for since she moved from Strasbourg in Alsace, France to the United States in 2017. She first taught as a language teacher in American schools, then spent a year at the North Seattle French School in 2020, and finally joined Les Lilas in 2022.

Asmaa holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Communication with a focus on teaching. She also holds a Daefle certification to teach French abroad. Special education holds a special place in her heart, and she has previously had the opportunity to work with special needs children. She believes every child should feel invited, welcomed, and included.


WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORTE BOOK WHEN YOU WERE IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
My favorite book when I was in elementary school was The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. The book taught me that patience and resilience are the key to happiness.
