NADIA TSHILOMBO
Assistant Teacher, La Maternelle
Nadia Tshilombo was born in kinshasa (DRC) in central Africa. French is the official language of the DRC. French is the first language she spoke and the language she communicates in with her immediate and extended family. Nadia also speaks Lingala and Swahili, two national languages in the DRC.
When Nadia was 15 years old her family moved to South Africa, where she obtained her high school diploma, a diploma in Public Management from the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria and a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase from the University of South-Africa.
She worked as a teacher in preschool, first grade and mainly second grade at a private school in the Limpopo province of south-Africa for 15 years.
Nadia tutored elementary school children in English, Math, social studies and science.
Her passion for the French language led Nadia to work on a freelance basis and as a volunteer on translations of sermons, texts, trainings in French and English.
She loves reading, writing, cultural exchanges, and is fascinated by children's curiosity and innate ability to learn.
Nadia moved to the United States of America in December of 2022 to join her husband. She worked at Bright Horizons since July 2023 mainly as a two year old teacher before joining Les Lilas as an assistant teacher in Maternelle.
Nadia is excited to be a part of the Les Lilas community and is looking forward to lasting friendships and partnership!
