Pénélope Souquet joined the Les Lilas board in 2019. Born in the United States to French parents, she grew up in France and in the US and is a citizen of both countries. She is passionate about education and knows first-hand the benefits of bilingualism and biculturalism.

Pénélope is an account executive with Lemon Tree Communications, a consulting partner in the global healthcare sphere. She has also been a freelance editor, writer, and translator since 2008. She has extensive experience in creating and editing content and her editorial work spans a wide array of fields including business, education, travel, and science.

Prior to 2008, she was a business news producer/writer at CNN and CNNfn in New York. She has also worked at ABC News, Voice of America, and Agence France Presse.

Pénélope has a Master of International Affairs with a concentration in International Media and Communications and a regional specialization in Africa from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The American University of Paris.

In her spare time she likes to travel, read, ski, solve the New York Times crossword puzzles, and occasionally knit.
